The Puffer Coat
The puffer coat has been seen every where this year. From the runways of Burberry to Balenciaga. This was a really big trend & one of my favorites. Many have commented on top designers trying to stay relevant by relying on the urban community. Which was true in my opinion when I seen this trend being recycled in the year 2017. The funny thing about trends they always get recycled.
I remember being in high school growing up in an urban neighborhood. Almost everyone who was fly or kept up with the trends had this coat. They were so fluffy and funny looking they reminded me of the Michelin man, but that was the ticket item to have around (2008-2010). They came in every color from black, red, navy blue and my favorite hot pink.
Even though the price point is higher now and the style is a lot puffer. It's so obvious where the trend originated from. It's been copied, reformed and worn by so many you can't deny it's back and hotter than ever. So many ladies have slayed the hell out of this trend. Leaving me in awe I just had to have a go at it.
I went for the simple black oversized puffer coat. With white and red trimming. I wanted to dress the coat down but still add some glam to it. I paired it with black biker shorts and silver chandelier earrings. I wore the coat slightly hanging off my shoulders to give it some sex appeal. I'm big on the off the shoulder look. I was going to do a red lip, but decided to keep it simple and do nude.
I wanted the coat to speak for itself. So I had to do blonde hair with this look because black would of blended in too well. The platinum blonde just made the coat pop! I really loved this look, It captured a lot of stares and received so many compliments.
